Spectrum News Capital Region: Orthodontist to Give Free Braces for 25 Capital Region Kids
Adirondack Orthodontics is making the largest-ever donation of braces to kids in need in the Capital Region, donating treatment to 25 patients in need. "For us it's all about the community," said Dr. Sergey Berenshteyn. "We've been in this area now for a little over five years and we've been lucky enough to have excellent feedback from our patients, so we wanted to make sure we could give back."

Miriam Dushane has been recruiting software and other tech jobs for companies for decades in her role as managing director of Alaant Workforce Solutions (formerly Linium Recruiting). In the long run, Dushane sees it as a positive, bringing more diverse technical talent to the Northeast. “I’m always telling employers to look beyond the Capital Region, to bring more people here," Dushane said. "Amazon coming to New York City might be a way for companies to have a bigger pool of talent, and as Amazon continues to grow, there will be movement.”

The Saratogian: Adirondack Orthodontics Guarding Shen Hockey Players
Sports are often steeped in tradition and during the winter, hockey posters, program covers and social media are often filled with photos of smiling hockey players with missing teeth, proud of their toughness and missing front teeth. That is one tradition that the Shenendehowa ice hockey team has avoided with style and ease the past four years courtesy of Dr. Sergey Berenshteyn, D.D.S. and his Adirondack Orthodontics office. The local office once again provided 28 molded mouth guards for the varsity squad at no cost to the team or the parents.

Braces fix your teeth, but can also be an expensive burden. That's why a local orthodontics practice is stepping in to ease the financial pain and strain of getting your braces. On Saturday, Adirondack Orthodontics in Latham teamed up with Smiles Change Lives, an international nonprofit, for what organizers say is the Capital Region's largest-ever donation of braces. Hundreds of children were screened by a team of doctors at the Latham practice and up to 25 will be selected to receive treatment.

A Catholic school in Albany has announced one of the biggest planned upgrades in its 134-year history. The Academy of the Holy Names has provided more details on the $2.5 million initiative to bring campus into the 21st century. The renovations will include a brand new construction of a north classroom wing. The space will feature a lounge area, new technology and a physics lab. Dr. Sergey Berenshteyn followed his mom's footsteps after graduating from Guilderland High School by becoming an orthodontist with practices in Latham, Albany and Clifton Park called Adirondack Orthodontics. He recently recognized his parents' tenacity and hustle in two teenagers, both Guilderland High School students, both patients of his. And both are the children of immigrants. When they told Berenshteyn they wanted to learn to be orthodontists, he created paid apprenticeships for each of them.

Dr. Sergey Berenshteyn of Adirondack Orthodontics invested in an oral scanner in September for his Guilderland office, one of three that he operates in the Capital Region. The process is a hit, especially with patients who've gone through mold-making in the past, and just as important is the quality of the results. The braces, retainers and appliances that are made from the scanners are superior to those made by the molds and rarely need to be adjusted. "We're actually seeing a clinical improvement based on the quality of the images we're taking now," Berenshteyn said.
